Variability in the climate-radial growth correlation of Pinus massoniana of different diameter classes

Abstract The physiological characteristics of trees change with age, suggesting that growth-related climate signals vary over time. This study aimed to clarify the impacts different diameter classes on chronological Pinus massoniana Lamb. and its response climatic factors. Chronologies were established in small (14.1 cm), middle (27.3 large (34.6 cm) according dendrochronology. results show that: (1) radial growth had varied sensitivities; (2) was affected by factors previous current year, while mainly year; (3) precipitation temperature key restricted trees, respectively.
